I didn't time it. Been working on it on and off for about 2 months. But I was really busy with university so couldn't work on it very often. I'd say approx 70-80 hours (not counting the pre sketch and planning time). The shirt took way longer than I thought, I had to keep it as consistant as possible, subtle yet distinguishable (otherwise it'd distract the face).

I like the way you draw - I see your inspiration (Nimra) here, but I appreciate that you're trying to get an emotional essence to your drawings. IMO - it's the way to good art - perfect technique and some symbols/emotions (e.g. Nimra drawings). I like your drawings more than many of traditional artists here, becouse they only draw sometimes....not create an art. ok, enough sweet words here

Armin's always been an inspiration, isn't he? Yeah, Art should always be more than a "a nice drawing". it should at least say "something".

I agree - so that is the reason i like your work. The only thing i do not like is that symbols or emotions aren't visible at first time (and I think yopu should draw in that way where you don't have to tell anybody that about the symbols in your art - IMO it must be visible and you shouldn't tell anybody but it's a detail, your work is stilll awesome)

it's a rather personal piece. it's it hard to see symbolism without knowing my life story. I agree. What I drew is my experience, my emotional status, my sadness, my fear, my past and present. I didn't tell anybody about the symbols, I was just clarifying the lettering since not everyone understands Chinese and certainly Hong Kong culture/History. however the choice for drawing that shirt has some other meaning (which has something to do with my political stance) but then again not many people know about Hong Kong politics. it is personal to me but impersonal to the others I must say. the shadow, beer bottle, and the hand has other kinds of symoblic meanings (more to do with my personal experience and feelings ), I'll let people to draw their own conclusions.

Let people think. If they could not see you in that drawing - it's their problem I love looking and trying to see something what other can't see (i don't know about the effects but like it very much) - draw yourself and try to let people see you. ehhh...it's a long disscussion, nice to talking with you (last time, about last selfportrait too do u remember that?)
